As we go through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation we discover challenges that Children from one generation to another faced. Some were not given the opportunity to reach adulthood. Some that reached adulthood lost the vision/purpose for their lives.
King Pharaoh of Egypt and Herod of Judea killed many children in their time. Many must have lost their lives in Sodom and Gomorrah. Abel was killed by his brother, while the two sons of Eli perished in one day. After Joshua's generation, the children 'know not the Lord nor yet his works'. They grew up and 'did evil in the sight of the Lord
    Heaven will never forget mothers like Jochebed who secured Moses for “She saw him that he was a goodly child”; Hannah who raised Samuel for the Lord; and Reuben who preserved a generation by preventing the shedding of Joseph’s blood. Moses, who delivered the Israelites from Egypt, rejected King Pharaoh’s idea to leave the children behind. The children were the ones that made it eventually, Praise God!
The challenges children are facing today are not any less, if not more, than the ones faced by generations before them. But the question remains, ‘who will stand in the gap for today’s child lest he be destroyed?”. ‘Who shall we send and who will go for us”? Who is ready and willing to fulfill that age long desire of God? Jesus said, “It is not the will of your father which is in heaven that any of these little ones should perish” (Matt. 18:14).
